Brittish airways kitesurfing video

Brittish airways have made a kitesurfing video about one of their pilots that is a kitesurfer as well. Quite interesting, since Brittish Airways have always been a little restricted to taking surfing gear onboard on their planes..

Description of the Brittish Airways aviation kitesurfing video

This is what they say:

Flying is in Claire’s blood. One of her ancestors is Amy Johnson, the pioneering British aviator. Her father and grandfather were also in aviation. She and her husband Kevin first learnt to kite surf for their first wedding anniversary in 1999, when the sport was just getting started.

By 2002 she was competing in the UK and internationally winning the BKSA championship and ranked number two in the world at the PKRA World Tour. During this time she was still flying for British Airways and had taken her command on the airline’s B747 ‘jumbo’ fleet.

The kite surfing footage was shot in West Sussex (East Preston)

I like that bigger companies like BA is starting to use kitesurfing in advertising. I hope that a lot of more companies will follow.

  1. very cool video and great techniques and i love the style..kitesurfing is one of the fastest growing water sport in the world.. its a great game, i have watched it live..

  2. Love the advert from a kiteboarders perspective. More adverts like this will help promote the sport and get more people on the water when they see how great it is being out there!
